CarSecure: all damages during car transport covered up to €70,000

Car transport platform Transporting Wheels offers car transport including damage coverage up to €70,000. 'CarSecure' coverage is a unique service for car transport within Europe. Moreover, this service is included in the price of transport. There is currently no carrier or forwarder that offers this security. How does regular motor transport damage coverage work?

A carrier's liability is very limited. Thus, in the event of damage, only about €10 per kg of cargo is paid out. So for a 1,200-kg car, the maximum cover is €12,000. Moreover, in cases of force majeure, such as heavy hailstorms, the carrier is not liable at all.
Separate damage insurance policies can be taken out, but the costs quickly add up to around three hundred euros, which is almost as much as the total price of the car transport.

Conditions and excess

The conditions for accepting the damage are simple: (1) Transporting Wheels customers have signed the CMR documents showing the damage upon receipt of the car, (2) photos of the damage have been taken. Furthermore, an excess of €500 per incident may apply in some cases. Per transport, Transporting Wheels accepts damage for up to eight cars.
